Time to Talk - وقيت نحكيو

نحكيو وقيت – Time to Talk is the flagship podcast of the Community Management for Social Change (CMSC) project, jointly implemented by the Arab Institute for Human Rights, Al Qatiba, and the Munathara Initiative from 2022 to 2023. Aimed at amplifying emerging voices in Tunisia’s media ecosystem, the initiative trained 40 young participants- many from underserved regions- in human rights-based journalism and podcast production.

Following a series of intensive theoretical and practical workshops, participants created ten original podcast episodes exploring public interest issues across Tunisia. Each episode reflected real community concerns identified through local needs assessments, with topics ranging from freedom of the press and political participation to migration, education, and women’s rights. The episodes also featured a dedicated fact-checking component to combat misinformation and promote ethical media practices.

The podcast format was deliberately scripted to ensure clarity and coherence, with each participant contributing researched sections and engaging in structured conversations. Throughout the process, participants received mentorship from media professionals, improving their skills in storytelling, investigative journalism, and audio production.

The initiative had a significant impact, with the podcast episodes reaching wide audiences online and being rebroadcast on multiple regional radio stations. It sparked meaningful community dialogue and paved the way for a new generation of citizen journalists committed to human rights, transparency, and civic participation.
