Al Munathara #DD (2012–2022) was the Arab world’s longest‑running independent debate series, created to amplify voices often excluded from regional discourse. Each cycle began online with an open video contest inviting Arabic speakers everywhere to argue a motion in 99 seconds, then moved to a televised studio debate where finalists joined prominent thinkers and policymakers before a live audience. By letting viewers choose the winner, the program made persuasive argument—not hierarchy—the deciding factor. Centering youth, women, refugees, and other marginalized groups, #DD turned sensitive topics into accessible public conversation and set a new standard for inclusive, participatory dialogue across MENA media.
