Maydan Townhall, a live debate produced in 2022 by the Munathara Initiative and Democracy Reporting International (DRI), explored the theme “The Right to Mobility and Migration: Between Reality and Legislation.” Hosted by Elias Al Gharbi, it featured ten youth participants and five guest experts discussing Tunisia’s legal and constitutional mobility rights, the challenges of irregular migration, and the socioeconomic and policy drivers behind it. Blending personal stories, expert perspectives, and audience interaction, the event examined how mobility intersects with economic marginalization and governance, and proposed steps to safeguard freedom of movement within and beyond Tunisia.
