Al Munathara Townhall is a one-time regional broadcast that brought together youth from across the Arab world for a rare and urgent conversation on corruption. Designed as a live televised event, it invited participants not just to describe the problem, but to publicly debate its roots, impact, and the concrete steps needed to fight it. Aired on May 29, 2022, the program featured 15 young participants from 15 Arabic-speaking countries, each offering personal insights shaped by their national contexts. Framed under the theme #To_fight_corruption_we_must..., the episode opened space for direct dialogue between youth, public policy experts, civil society leaders, and institutional figures. Discussions tackled the political, economic, and cultural forces that enable corruption, and why institutional reform remains elusive in much of the region. Despite diverse local experiences, participants identified common frustrations—deep public distrust, lack of transparency, and stalled anti-corruption efforts. Their proposals emphasized the need for civic education, legal accountability, and stronger democratic institutions.
