#DD16: “Arab countries should use science to determine a single start date of Ramadan."
This year, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on 18 June, 2015, with the sighting of the new moon. The Munathara Initiative is asking this motion: Should science determine a binding Ramadan start date for Muslims in the Arab world?

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree? To take part in our current #DD16 Musabaqa, you can submit a video of 99 seconds or less stating your position and making compelling arguments in favor of or against the motion by 30 May 2015, 11:59pm Tunis time. Eight winners from anywhere in the Arab world will be invited to join us in Amman, Jordan, where the live debate will take place to take part in an intensive three-day debate workshop, and two of the Musabaqa winners (chosen among the eight) will participate in our live televised debate on 13 June, alongside top Arab opinion leaders. The debate will be broadcast live on Al Jazeera Mubasher. Winners of Musbaqat Munathara are determined by audience vote, so feel free to share your video on Facebook, Twitter, or via Email. Voting will end on 3 June 2015 at 11:59pm Tunis time.

Good luck everyone, and we look forward to your contributions!
